There are two basic methods of mounting rear kart bumpers;
1. A special rubber bushing is inserted into the frame rails and a bolt is inserted through an eye on the bumper into the threads in the special bushing. The bumper pictured below was made for that type of application. This is the most common method used for sprint karts but is also employed by some oval chassis. We highly recommend that the mounting bolt is safety wired to the kart chassis.

2. The second method requires that there are tubes attached to the bumper that insert into the ends of the frame rails. The frame rail and the bumper insert are cross drilled and a bolt is inserted through them to secure the bumper. This method is often used in an attempt to keep the bumper from "binding up" the chassis or preventing it from flexing freely, but since the bolt is tight, and prevents twist, some binding of the chassis still exists. The bumpers that we make for this type of application utilize our unique no-bind technique pictured below.

If the bumper is for an application that
requires the no bind pins add $10.00. We can also machine no-bind
bushings for sprint karts that utilize the rubber bushing mounting method.
Since these are custom made bumpers, of course additional loops and mounting tabs and bumper configurations can be added at an additional cost.
We have found Rustoleum spray paint to hold up very well as an attractive finish for these bumpers.
